Storage conditions
Pressure sensitive tapes need to be stored under defined conditions. Extreme high temperatures can lead to degradation of the adhesive or backing materials. Extreme low temperatures might influence the bonding characteristics.
The generally recommended storage conditions are:
The target surface should be clean and dust free.
If this is not the case, clean the target surface with suitable cleaning products.
Unwinding
Unwinding of the protective film or paper can be done manually or with a laminator machine. If you unwind manually it’s best to unwind with the adhesive side facing down. If you apply the protective tape with a laminator make sure the adhesive side is facing down and the tension is not too high.
Application - act
Manually:
The protective tape will protect the target surface during storage, transport and installation.
Removal
Remove the protective tape from the applied graphic by peeling back at an angle of 45°.
Discard / Recycle
This is a temporary tape – once removed one can discard / dispose without special instructions.
ABI Tape takes responsibility for our planet. As such, we are currently working on tapes that have an accelerated biodegradable function on the backing. Stay tuned …

- Apply the protective tape on the target surface with the adhesive facing the target surface.
- Squeegee the protective tape onto the target surface from the centre out.
- Remove the protective tape from the target audience by peeling back at an angle of 45° and discard the protective tape.
- Install the target surface on the designated area of your laminator machine.
- Install the roll of protective tape with the adhesive side facing the target surface, on the designated area of the laminator machine.
- When the lamination process is done, check if the protective tape fully adheres to the target surface. If this is not the case, use a squeegee to apply the protective tape.
