Storage conditions

Pressure sensitive tapes need to be stored under defined conditions. Extreme high temperatures can lead to degradation of the adhesive or backing materials. Extreme low temperatures might influence the bonding characteristics.
The generally recommended storage conditions are:
  • 68 - 72 F / 20 - 22 C
  • 50 - 70% relative humidity
  • Rolls store flat in their original packaging, away from direct sources of UV (i.e., lights, sun).
Preparation of the surface

The target surface should be clean and dust free.
If this is not the case, clean the target surface with suitable cleaning products. For example if the target surface is a window, clean it with window cleaner.

Unwinding

Unwinding of the transfer tape can be done manually or with a laminator machine. If you unwind manually it’s best to unwind with the adhesive side facing down. If you apply the application tape with a laminator make sure the adhesive side is facing down and the tension is not too high.

Application - act

Dry application:
  • Place the vinyl graphic on a stable & flat surface (vinyl facing up).2.    Apply the transfer tape on the vinyl graphic with the adhesive side facing the vinyl.
  • Squeegee the transfer tape onto the graphic from the centre out.
  • Turn the graphic upside down and peel the liner away from the graphic.
  • Apply the graphic to its target surface with the vinyl facing the surface.
  • Squeegee the graphic onto the target surface from the centre out to remove bubbles. Make sure the graphic adheres fully to the target surface.
  • Remove the transfer tape from the applied graphic by peeling back at an angle of 45° and discard the transfer tape.
Wet application:
  • Place the vinyl graphic on a stable & flat surface (vinyl facing up).
  • Apply the transfer tape on the vinyl graphic with the adhesive side facing the vinyl.
  • Squeegee the transfer tape onto the graphic from the centre out.
  • Turn the graphic upside down and peel the liner away from the graphic.
  • Spray the target surface and/or the graphic on the adhesive side with water with a drop of soap/dish.
  • Apply the graphic to its target surface with the vinyl facing the surface. Reposition if necessary. Wet application makes repositioning easy.
  • Squeegee the graphic onto the target surface from the centre out to remove bubbles. Make sure the graphic adheres fully to the target surface.
  • Remove the transfer tape from the applied graphic by peeling back at an angle of 45° and discard the transfer tape.
Application - function

The transfer tape will transfer the vinyl graphic onto the target surface.

Removal

Remove the transfer tape from the applied graphic by peeling back at an angle of 45°.
